As mentioned in my last “overview” email we were very disappointed to miss our biggest recruitment event of the year in our Come and Try Hockey/Esso Fun Day Event. I could use some help getting the word out so please share. A couple things:
- MOST IMPORTANT: Registrations for BRAND NEW players to CMHA begin on June 16 at 9:00 am. Have your child’s birth certificate scanned and ready to be attached but the Respect in Sport can be handled later, you do not need to have that at registration time. CMHA is busy association so you are going to want to be online at 9:00 to insure a spot, the process is pretty simple and with the Covid scenario still playing out we are only asking for a deposit at this time. If you already have a child in CMHA you can register your new player now!!!
- GEAR HELP FOR NEWBIES: U7 Intro to Hockey (Formerly Initiation) and U9 (Formerly Novice) – If you are on the bubble, don’t have gear and are not sure if you want to make that commitment yet. I have gear available that I can lend out for the season or until you are ready to dive in and make the purchase. Please do not be shy to contact me about this, If I don’t have it we can try to find it. We understand the commitment especially if your daughter isn’t 100% convinced yet.
- COMING FROM RINGETTE OR OTHER SPORTS – We truly just want the girls to play something, we just want them going. Your daughter CAN be registered for both programs and we can work to accommodate while she decides which stream to concentrate on. And this works both ways, if your hockey daughter always wanted to try ringette they can contact them and try both. With the payment options this season that may be the way to go if your player has always wanted to try hockey.
